Meet Dr Laura Challinor

Laura is a BPS Chartered and HCPC-registered Forensic Psychologist, with experience in the assessment and treatment of violent and sexual offenders across a range of secure healthcare settings. She currently works within the Offender Personality Disorder (OPD) Pathway, providing assessment and therapy to individuals convicted of sexual offences who present with problematic personality traits.

  • Laura has worked in high, medium, and low secure healthcare settings, providing assessment and treatment for individuals who have committed offences and require care under the Mental Health Act. She has experience across the full range of forensic populations, including those within the OPD Pathway.

  • Laura specialises in forensic assessment and intervention for sexual and violent offenders, with expertise in individuals with personality difficulties. She is trained in Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). She is also trained to assess for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and learning disabilities.

    • Structured psychological assessments: proficient in assessment of personality and offending-related behaviours

    • Cognitive and neurodevelopmental assessments: trained in assessing ASD and learning disabilities

Dr Laura Challinor is a Forensic Psychologist, Chartered with the BPS and Registered with the HCPC.
